Cook’s Notes:
Granola was first eaten in the late 19th century and much like today it was a mixture of rolled oats, nuts and dried fruit such as raisins. It was revived in the ‘60s as a natural food breakfast staple and is now a stock item in the cereal aisle of your neighborhood supermarket. It is easy to prepare and you can make up your own version using your favorite ingredients. Besides a breakfast cereal, granola also tastes great with a bowl of yoghurt or as a topping on fruit. You can add granola to a simple cookie dough recipe to make a granola cookie. You can store the granola in an airtight container.
